Hi, I’m Chris!
I’m the author of Baby, This is a High-Priced Country: Stories (Black Heroics Book Co., 2026) and Give My Love to the Savages: Stories (Amistad/HarperCollins, 2021). I was a Pushcart Prize winner and a finalist for the PEN/Robert W. Bingham Prize and the Oregon Book Award. I earned an MFA from George Mason University. I’m a two-time fiction fellow at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, Massachusetts, a Callaloo Writer’s Workshop fiction fellow, and a two-time Oregon Literary Arts fiction fellow. I own and operate the publishing company Black Heroics Book Co.
